Most people who travel to Ha Giang do so with a motorbike, either on their own or in an organized group of travellers. This is the type of travel that the region is famous for, with the “Ha Giang Loop” providing a perfect route for an incredibly scenic motorcycle trip. Independent travellers can rent or buy motorcycles in Hanoi, or if they don’t wish to face the chaotic traffic of the capital, simply rent one in Ha Giang town after arriving with the bus.
For those not comfortable with motorcycle-riding, travelling the region in a van or car on a private or group tour is another fantastic option. While you won’t be as close to the nature as someone on a motorbike, the vehicles will always make plenty of stops, especially at the most spectacular locations, allowing you plenty of time to take in the views and snap some photographs.
